Fool, of thyself speak well. Fool, do not flatter: Act 5, Scene 3, Line 195
Richard the Third
Late last year we started research and development workshops on a new project: Richard III finds a Small Nose.
Little did we know that his bones we’re about to turn up in Leicester, just down the road!
On this journey we were incredibly happy to be collaborating with Mr. John Wright. John’s work with us has been amazing. His helpful, harsh and happy way have given us all lots to think about.
Now these workshops have nearly come to an end and together with John and a very dedicated and talented bunch of professional actors we have begun to find a fun, fresh and accessible interpretation of this great play.
We have one last workshop with John scheduled for this coming July and then we will move very quickly to produce a small performance based on what we have found in the rehearsal room.
At the helm of this (…what we call ‘scratch’) performance will be Mr. Rhys McClelland.
Rhys works as an associate theatre practitioner and director and The Birmingham Rep and directed Mark in a very moving version of the play ‘Someone Who’ll Watch over Me’ back in 2006.
Mark had hair then!!
Keep checking these pages to see where and when Richard and his nose will turn up next…
