Black History Month project:’We Aren’t that Different’

Black History Month October 2017

This is the culmination of Small Noses project: ‘ We Aren’t that Different’ which sees three performances over the month of October. But this project has been running for over 6 months thanks to Peterborough Presents.

Peterborough Presents supported this project so we could run workshops in different schools within the Peterborough area. We used our creative style of Play, games, and this time some masks to explore and develop material for a devised piece focusing on Black History. Jason, from Small Nose, ran the project and made David Olusoga’s ‘Black and British – A Forgotten History’ his go-to source of research. All along the way he has worked closely with Bernadetta Omondi to develop this project.

In the devising week he was joined by Keely Mills, Mark Curtis and Jeffrene Francis-Williams from the Peterborough areas to help write and create the piece.

Please join us at the Town Hall on the 28th October to see what these young people have created to celebrate Black History Month 2017.
